Google or Bing

Well today I'm going to be talking about Google and Bing, the two big search engines now and of course there is Yahoo as well but that is a discussion for another blog or blogger. Now Bing is a Microsoft search engine and is the second most recommended search engine. Then there is Google who seems to own everything. So lets get started on the best and worst parts of each search engine.
Bing was first introduced by Microsoft' CEO Steve Ballmer on May 2009 and was fully operational on June 2009. So it is still a baby compared to Google, but being owned by Microsoft gives it's name a lot of prestige. Bing has almost all the features Google has, but they are lacking in a sense. Bing doesn't really have an email website like Google's GMail. What Bing did have over Google was better ability to play videos, but now since Google owns or partially owns YouTube (the current largest video playing website) Bing seems to be out of luck. Now there has also been reports about Bing becoming corrupted and taking over your homepage on your computer even though you didn't want it to do that. Some reports say that once it becomes your homepage it is really hard to set your page back even if you try and restore your computer or removing Bing from your set homepage. Personally I have never had this problem, but there has been many cases of this happening. People go as far as to say that it is like the my start search engine in a sense that you don't want to be on it, you don't want it to be your homepage, and you don't want it to start giving you viruses. I think that that is a step to far because unlike my start it doesn't randomly download malware on to your computer in hopes that it can keep you away from being able to remove it from your homepage. Now what Bing has been accused of doing is not properly checking websites for unexpected viruses, but if you say that then Google hasn't been good at doing that either. Something that Bing has that google doesn't it the use of a security block. This means you can set it so that "dirty videos" don't pop up out of no where. Bing also has pretty good maps, it will give you directions of how to get somewhere, but it's placement is not so good. So there plenty of things that Bing can do to improve itself so it can catch up with Google.
Now Google on the other hand seems to be trying to crush Bing. Google bought YouTube which helps big time. Google has been around for what seems like forever and you can basically find anything you want on it. It a search engine that basically does your job for you. Google has basically every website link on it so this does mean you are going to run into a virus or two, but in my opinion if you go on a site you don't know or if the name itself sounds suspicious then it is your fault that you got that virus. That could be said for any search engine you use, but since Google has the most website links and things you shouldn't find yourself in a problem where you get a virus. One thing that is pretty creepy is that Google does track what your doing and no it is not just a rumor it is true. Even if you clean your search history, delete all the cookies, Google stores all the things in some sort of hard drive that police and other hacker groups maybe able to get a hold of. Honestly I'm not really bothered by it all that often because the things Google stores is supposed to help with your search because it better understands the things you are looking for. Another little problem Google has to face is the fact that it get into legal problems a lot, but I mean come on with all the websites Google has on it there are bound to be some certificate errors and other things like that.
So at the end of the day Google is my favorite search engine and will continue to be my favorite search engine, but it does get annoying sometimes because it has so many websites on it, it gets a little hard to find the exact thing you are looking for, but you will find it eventually. I mean you will find the exact thing your looking for or at least something pretty close to it on Google you just got to take time out your day and skip through all of the pages that Google has. Bing is still young and developing website that will continue to grow and will go in the right direction if Microsoft doesn't shut it down. It is a search engine on the rise and might one day top Google in success because all Google needs to do is mess up once.
So what is your favorite search engine?
If you don't use Google, Bing or even Yahoo then what search engine do you use?
